B. Delorus Gregg, 87, of Mt. Zion, formerly of Argenta, passed away at 10:42 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 in Heritage Manor Care Center, Mt. Zion.
A service to celebrate Delorus's life will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
Delorus was born December 5, 1924 in Decatur the daughter of Alonzo Clayton and Daisy Mae (Hackney) Henon. She married Glenn A. Gregg on April 12, 1942. He preceded her in death. She worked as the bookkeeper for many years for Glen-Del Homes, a business she participated in with her husband.
Delorus was a member of the Dudes and Dames Square Dance Club as well as several other square dance clubs. Besides dancing, she also greatly enjoyed times fishing with her husband and family in many area lakes and ponds.
Surviving are her sons: Glenn Gregg and his wife Nancy of Bethany and Larry Gregg and his wife Patricia of Cisco; grandchildren: Sheila Dawn Mobley and her husband Doug of Bloomington, Joe Gregg and his wife Denise of Martinsville, Thomas James Gregg and his wife Shelley of Decatur, L. Nikki Phillips and her husband Justin of Decatur, Jeffrey Purdeu of Decatur, Randy Purdeu and his wife Doris of Long Creek, and Denise Durham and her husband Dennis of Decatur; Fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother: Jack.
Delorus treasured her time with family and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
